Google Maps is entirely wrong about when this market is running, so just check the official page first. It’s usually on the 1st & 3rd Sunday. It appears common sense is not common in regards to people blasting this market with 1* reviews because they ‘wasted their time’… if you didn’t even get to see it because YOU didn’t check properly to confirm it was on, why are you leaving a rating at all—you never even experienced it? 🙄My irritation with those reviewers aside the antique market was really interesting. Price tags could be quite high for vintage pieces, but some nice haori/kimono were around ¥1000. As a ceramicist, the collections of old pottery, porcelain, woodwork, and glasswork were inspiring. You’ll also see antique jewelry, prints/books from old Japan, homemade clothing/art/items, toys, trinkets, and more. I wish I’d allotted myself more time to wander around. It’s less of a thrift-for-cheap situation and more of a browsing of special wares, but even if you don’t purchase anything, it was fun to walk around and look at all the vendors’ stuff. It’s a unique tourist activity for Tokyo that represents Japanese culture quite well & the location beside Tokyo Station is super convenient.Cash is king but some vendors can accept card payments.
24.May.2026Great weather today. First time here. Most stalls selling porcelain, pottery & used kimono clothing & accessories.Cop-ed a ¥1000 happi-coat & ¥200 hairpins.
INSTAGRAM @ higher_hwi🖋 The reviews I wrote are subjective, but I wrote them all at my own expense.
Amazing market, but it’s so huge!Best flea market I’ve ever been to.Prices were good, but I honestly didn’t have the physical energy to dig through all the ceramics I wanted…There was everything — pottery, clothes, decor, toys from every era, paintings, posters, maps… literally anything. You need at least 4–5 hours here.I walked for two and still didn’t see it all.
