It is refreshing to discover a trail or path through the back streets of Tokyo that is exclusively for pedestrians. Japanese drivers are careful of walkers but it is still nice to saunter along without worrying about motor vehicles. This stretch of road, 東井堀親水緑道 (Higashii Hori shinsui midori michi) Higashiibori (East Spring Moat) Hydrophilic Green Road, has a flowing moat (supplied by a vigorous spring) running next to the walking path. The sound (dare I say music) of the flowing water is a pleasant accompanyment while strolling along. The South end is near the 上鎌田の富士塚 Kamikamada Fuji-zuka (surrogate Mt. Fuji).
