Vraiment belle expérience de mon premier repas avec de la viande de Kobé, un vrai régal!!
Surprisingly empty when we went but the food was fantastic. Staff stayed with us and cooked the meat for us. Absolutely loved it here, super close to our stay and wasn’t even that expensive.
We just wanted to order a simple takeout dinner because we stayed in a Airbnb close by. We saw pictures of different cheap dinner sets, so for the price and convenience, we went in. Then we saw the menu with premium cuts and decided to give it a try. We ordered the premium thick cut beef tongue, and some grilled vegetables and rice (for delivery). The first bite was out of the world good! We didn’t even know the name of the place until AFTER we had that fantastic meal! What a hidden gem! We will for sure come back and eat in the restaurant before we leave Tokyo!
Kobe Beef Syeon is EXCELLENT!! The different cuts of beef are so tender, it feels like they melt in your mouth. The accompaniments (sauces, vegetables) for the various pieces bring out their best flavors. Everything was so delicious!We went here for dinner on 3/21 after visiting the SkyTree. The restaurant is basically across the street/river from the SkyTree, so it was easy to find and get to. It was around 7:40pm on a Friday evening, and it wasn't busy at all.The owner greeted us in front of the restaurant and helped us pick what we wanted for dinner ("BBQ" as opposed to hotpot / shabu-shabu). After the cuts of meat and accompaniments were brought out, the staff peeked from a respectable distance to make sure we knew what we were doing.We had no clue what we were doing, so the owner came over to show us and ended up very kindly cooking and serving us dinner. He gave us recommendations via motioning which sauce or side to go with each cut of meat after he had put that cut on the grill, used scissors to cut it into bite-sized pieces if need be, and put the first few pieces on our plates.We don't speak Japanese (at all) and the staff's English seemed fairly limited, but we were able to communicate via pointing and example. We saw another patron who entered after us use Google Translate (with sound) and that seemed to go over well as well.For reference (and so you might be less clueless than we were), we got plates of raw beef and small dishes with things like lettuce leaves, sauces, pickled vegetables, rice, etc.. You're supposed to use the tongs to put the meat directly onto the depressed grill in the table. If the piece is not bite-sized, use the scissors to cut it into bite-sized pieces. When the meat is cooked to your liking, use the tongs to remove the meat to the empty small plate to eat with chopsticks. It's basically tabletop grilling!(The accompaniments might have been placed next to the meat cut that they go best with, but I don't fully remember.)All in all, wonderful place with amazing food and hospitality. We highly recommend Kobe Beef Syeon, even if you don't know any Japanese!
