私は利用しておりませんが、観光客やお相撲ファンは朝早く部屋前に集合して見学に関するマナーや決まり事の説明を受けている様子は良く見かけます。
I recently visited Oshiogawa-beya while on a guided tour (external company), it was a truly captivating experience and I would highly recommend booking a guided tour to anyone considering watching morning practice.While observing their morning practice it was exciting to watch the strength and discipline each of the rikishi possessed. The direct impact being made at the tachi-ai could be felt, vibrating through the ground and floor of the room, it gave me goosebumps!I was already a fan and follower of the sport when I attended, but being able to watch the rikishi in their stable warm up and practice under the watchful eye and guidance of their Oyakata, gave me an even deeper respect and admiration for the sport.Because of the ties to shinto ritual ceremony, the tour guide will explain the importance of entering the stable quietly, and how the morning practice should observed respectfully by any visitors. This is the small part we play in order to participate in something really great, which only makes you feel more included in the overall experience.
What a wonderful experience to take in while in Japan. I am a sumo fan and this was the ultimate opportunity beyond going to a live tournament. Professional tour guide, Yuriko-San gave the group a wonderful introduction before we walked to the stable. We sat literally at the edge of the ring and watched every moment of the wrestlers’ morning workout routine. Stable master was coaching wrestlers throughout. Following the practice we were able to take pictures and ask the stablemaster questions. If you are even thinking about doing this, GO! Highly recommended!
I was there at the same time as the people who recently left one-star reviews and no-one spoke badly to me. The practice session was shorter because it was during a tournament, but it was still extremely impressive. I am grateful that they let us watch on a day that they were going to fight and even took time to snap a picture with everyone! You do have to be silent and respectful and not shoot videos as it is a place of work, not a hospitality business.I love sumo and I will keep following this stable as it was recently refounded and has a commendable mission of engaging with the local community. I booked through a tour company, but if you speak Japanese you can see the practice for less money by becoming a supporter through their website or maybe by phoning the stable directly. I wish all their fighters good luck!
A wonderful experience! Here's some advice for those who have high expectations: This place is not specifically designed for tourism or to provide an experience similar to a concert. There may be a discrepancy if you're expecting that kind of atmosphere. For example, it's like attending a practice session for sports events such as baseball or basketball. Giving a negative review solely based on unmet expectations would be an unfair and unfavorable action.
