Calligraphy is a fascinating art. As an American living in Japan, I try to understand a little more of the culture every day. I have written kanji with a pen many times, but never with a brush. Spending a Sunday morning practicing calligraphy before heading out to sightsee in Kobe was a peaceful and memorable way to start the day. I highly recommend trying it while you are here.
