Rented a board in the morning. There were some rules regarding soft top vs. hard top boards that I found difficult to understand. But as a guest in a foreign country I can’t complain as I don’t speak or read Japanese. I was treated with respect and given a choice of board. I would go here again!
This surf rental shop is in an excellent location, making it convenient for both beginners and experienced surfers. The facility offers clean showers and secure lockers, and you can easily rent a wetsuit and board at reasonable prices. The staff is incredibly friendly with foreigners, adding to the overall positive experience. The nearby beach is perfect for beginners, with easy access directly from the rental area. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy a hassle-free surf experience
Nice, super close to the beach! But very limited choice of boards (one 9 feet Bic and 9 feet foams). But lockers and everything so very convenient. Thank you!
施設、接客はとても良かったけど少しお値段が高めかな。
ボードとウエット、タオルをレンタルしました。スタッフの方も親切で施設も温水シャワー、鍵付きロッカーもあり快適。また利用したいショップです。

Before starting, it’s rare that I write a review but this time, I just want to leave a comment so that other people looking for a similar thing as us don’t go here.We are intermediate surfers who were in Kamakura for a short stay after Tokyo and looking to surf to beat the heat of August. Most surf spots that we wanted to go to didn’t have surf shops close by and we couldn’t rent a car to go. So we decided to stay in center Kamakura to surf since there were a few shops. We went to a few and they were unfortunately closed (we were a tuesday?) or they didn’t have what we were looking for.So, tired of looking for a board and wanting badly to go in the water, we found Honey Surf club and there were good comments so we decided to try it.When we arrived, the staff was not super welcoming and not clear about where to rent the surfboard. Then, there was very few options in boards and they said they could only rent us a foamie in the day before 5pm (they said that in Kamakura, no other surfboards are allowed in the day but we could switch it after 5pm) which is not ideal but okay if it is the rule. We rented it because we really wanted to surf and were tired of searching.Unfortunately, it was a really used foamboard and no other options. It was already in a really bad shape and not well maintained, infiltrating with water, and the leash was always falling in the water because of the velcro that was not working well.So, we could still have fun overall in the water and there was a locker and shower, and that’s why I gave it a 2 stars but next time, I will go somewhere else.
