Shuji-San is a wonderful, knowledgeable teacher. He was so kind to pick us up from the train station - in retrospective we could have just taken the bus further to his establishment since the stop is directly in front of his shop. But due to this we went to buy ingredients together in a local supermarket- which was quite entertaining and interesting, too. We learned how to make traditional Japanese food - Miso soup, fried fish in a yummy sauce, some Brokkoli and apple with a paste & chicken with some spring onion. It was delicious and we had a fun and informative evening. Shuji-San made this experience smooth and pleasant. We can wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone who would like to learn more about Japanese cuisine and local culture.
Great days of cooking with Shuji-sensei, he showed us traditional techniques to make authentic home Japanese cuisine.Shuji sensei also introduced us to wonderful locals and showed us the area.
Ozeki san is an amazing cook where you can learn how to cook and enjoy the fruits of your labor after while eating together! He speaks perfect English so no communication problem:)
A friend and I took a washoku cooking lesson from Shuji and it was very fun and informative. We made nikujage, croquettes, miso soup, and several side dishes.
