Notre coup de cœur ! L'accueil chaleureux nous a donné l'impression de faire partie de la famille. La vue depuis la chambre comme depuis la salle à manger est magnifique (notre hôte se donnant la peine de remanier l'agencement des tables pour que chaque usager puisse en bénéficier). L'onsen est agréable. Nous y retournerons avec joie si l'opportunité se présente de nouveau.
really wanted to like this place but the smell when you enter the property was extremely unpleasant. It also didn't fade during the stay and was most noticeable downstairs.While it was incredible to have a view of Fusan from my room, I found that the room was also not fully meeting my expectations. There were stains on the wall and all over the ceiling.I only stayed for 2 nights hence why I didn't complain or find a new accommodation but overall I would avoid this place in the future.
Excellent accueil, chaleureux et convivial. Notre chambre était magnifique avec vue direct sur le Mont Fuji (qu'on n'a malheureusement pas pu apprécié car caché derrière d'épais nuages... mais ça, ce sont les aléas de la météo). Les deux onsen familiaux sont très agréables et le petit-déjeuner traditionnel excellent. Quelques izakayas sont également à proximité pour un dîner dans une ambiance japonaise authentique.
I was very impressed. The owner was kind and the housekeeper was lovely and took care of me very well. It's a place you should stay at when you come to Kawaguchik

Sehr gute Unterkunft im traditionell Japanischen Stiel. Die Dame empfing uns sehr freundlich. Das japanische Frühstück war sehr gut. Absolute Empfehlung!!!
Had the best stay at Aoiso!The house was really accessible, just a couple minutes bus ride from the station. The view of Mt Fuji was breathtaking and made every second of the journey to reach there worth it. The room itself is a beautiful traditional ryokan completed with a small onsen provided for the guests.The owner is very friendly and kawaiii. Let’s not forget the amazing food she made for our breakfast. Thank you so much for hosting us, the experience is unforgettable!
Stayed at Aoiso for a night and it was such a memorable experience. We felt welcomed all the way by the caring hospitality provided by Haruko-san. Recommend that you get the breakfast set cooked personally by Haruko-san while enjoying the view of Mount Fuji from the common area. 😌

Our stay at Ryokan Aoiso in Kawaguchiko was truly one of the most special experiences of our entire Japan trip.The location is absolutely perfect – Lake Kawaguchiko is just a short walking distance away, making it incredibly easy to explore the area and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.One of the absolute highlights was the e-bike rental system. You can borrow bikes directly from the ryokan via an app, and Shogo-san explained everything to us so kindly and clearly. Exploring the area by bike was, without exaggeration, our most beautiful and memorable day in Japan. We still talk about it and honestly wish we had stayed one or two more days instead of continuing on to Kyoto.The shared bathrooms, showers, and facilities were never an issue. Since there are only a few rooms, it never felt crowded at all, and we were genuinely surprised by how peaceful and comfortable everything was.We also highly recommend the breakfast, lovingly prepared fresh every morning by Haruko-san. We added it for 1,000 yen per person and enjoyed it every single day. It was delicious, more than enough, and excellent value for money.Our room was spacious and beautifully furnished with tatami mats. It was our first time staying in a traditional ryokan and sleeping on futons, and we truly enjoyed experiencing this part of Japanese culture.The onsen were another highlight – two baths with hot Fuji spring water, which you can enjoy after showering. It was incredibly relaxing. As a couple, we were even allowed to use them together, which made it even more special. My partner also has tattoos, and this was absolutely no problem at all.Overall, the price-performance ratio is outstanding.Most importantly, I want to sincerely thank Haruko-san. She was one of the kindest and most warm-hearted people we met during our trip. Even with my limited Japanese, she always listened patiently and gave me the chance to practice a little. She truly made our stay unforgettable. Thank you as well for the little cookies – I almost don’t dare to open them because they feel so special.I am motivated to study more Japanese, and we will definitely come back one day.Thank you for everything.本当に素晴らしい滞在をありがとうございました。はるこさんの温かいおもてなしに心から感謝しています。また必ず戻ってきます。
