Excellent magasin pour les amateurs de go et de shogi. Le choix est vaste, de sets adaptés aux débutants jusqu’aux personnes voulant acquérir un jeu de qualité.On y trouve aussi du matériel de backgammon.
Excellent chess shop / shogi shop in japan I was so fortunate to meet the designer of the kids version of shogi chess . Miss madoka was super friendly and also shop staff was so helpful for new player like me to learn shogi ! Highly recommended to check it out ! Very well worth the visit if you are into wooden chess and wood craftsmanship !!!

カナダからの一時帰国中、四谷でユニークな将棋・囲碁の専門店を見つけました！元女流棋士の北尾まどかさんがオーナーのお店で、プロ棋士から直接アドバイスをもらえる機会もある本格派です。私は将棋も囲碁もほぼ未経験ですが、デザインの可愛さやここでしか買えないレアさに惹かれて、カナダの友人へのお土産として即決しました。猫の囲碁セット：オセロとしても遊べて、猫好きへのギフトに最適。どうぶつしょうぎ：子供や女性も将棋を習いたくなるアイデア。(そういえば将棋マンガ、三月のライオンで、二階堂君が説明していた動物将棋に似てますね。)手彫りストラップ：プロのオーナーの気迫が宿る、直々の手彫り。手彫りでないストラップも、センス良いお土産になりそう。★一つマイナスした、改善点も。伝統文化とプロの技に触れられる貴重な場所ですが、ややマニア向けな雰囲気。また現状は日本語の説明が多く、私のような未経験者や外国人には、少し敷居が高く感じるかもしれません。店主には「将棋や囲碁マンガの紹介や、英語などの多言語対応をぜひ！」とリクエストしたので、今後の改善に期待しています。近所にあるらしい四谷の抹茶体験とセットで巡れば、他ではできないユニークな日本文化ツアーで、外国人の友人らに受けそう。次回は私も、カナダ人の友人と来て、将棋や囲碁のプロの手ほどきを受けたいと思います！。ーーーDuring my visit back to Japan from Canada, I found an amazing Shogi and Go specialty shop in Yotsuya! The owner, Madoka Kitao, is a former professional Shogi player. It is a very authentic place where you can even get advice directly from professional players.I am a complete beginner, but I loved the designs and immediately bought gifts for my friends in Canada.Cat Go Set: It is so cute! We could use it for Othello too. A perfect gift for cat lovers.Animal Shogi (Dobutsu Shogi): The idea is brilliant(Sorry to forget to take its picture). It makes Shogi very easy and approachable for children and women.Hand-carved Koma (Shogi pieces) Straps These are hand-carved by the professional owner herself. I could feel her strong energy and spirit in them. The other straps seem to become stylish and unique-Japan souvenirs.The reason why I reduced one star is this small point for improvement:This is a precious place to experience traditional culture, but currently, most explanations are only in Japanese. It might feel a bit difficult for beginners or international tourists to enter. I requested the owner to add more English explanations, so I hope it will be improved soon!If you visit here along with a Matcha experience nearby in Yotsuya, it would be a very unique cultural tour. Next time, I want to come back with my Canadian friends and get a Shogi and Go lessons from the pros!
