Navy Federal at the Camp Foster Exchange was a great experience and very convenient, especially since there are not many Navy Federal locations on island. There is not one located on Kadena Air Force Base, so if you are looking for the closest option from that area, Camp Foster is the one to use. It was about a 16 minute drive for me.For anyone trying to find it, Gate 3 is the easiest way to access the bank. Once you get on base, look for the Popeyes near the Exchange area because Navy Federal is located directly across from it.The branch was able to handle everything I needed. I went in for an international wire transfer and the process was smooth from start to finish. The wait time was very short, and there were multiple representatives available to help. The staff was professional, patient, and made the whole transaction easy.They normally quote 3 to 5 days for an international wire transfer, but mine arrived the very next day, which was a great surprise. Overall, this location is extremely useful to have on island and the service was excellent. Definitely a solid Navy Federal branch for anyone stationed in or around Okinawa.
It’s great to have a physical bank on the island. It would be even better if there was one on Kadena as well, or at least a Navy Federal ATM that accepted deposits. It’s extremely inconvenient to drive all the way to Foster just to make a simple deposit.

Overall, very friendly service and a great location for banking. Unfortunately, this branch is severely understaffed with just one teller working during peak hours. This often leads to long wait times especially when a customer has a larger transaction. If this branch were to have even one more teller it would be worthy of a 5 star review.

It meets all my needs for a bank on base and the staff has always answered with patience and kindness when I have questions.
