The Hostess spoke English and was happy to converse with us. Got a lovely demonstration on Matcha preparation, as well as guidance on purchasing matcha essentials. Arigato goziamasu!
amazing authentic tea store with a lot of varieties and very helpful lady who helped us choose our matcha. all the cans we bought were carefully packaged and the price was very reasonable. i would come here instead of very touristic spots on the main street!

The owner is very kind and patient, she made the sample for the matcha that I meant to buy 🥹 it was so fluffy! The store wasn’t so crowded as I was alone inside of it, people should come over here and buy her matcha 💚
昨年12月に訪問させていただきました。優しい穏やかな女将さんが対応してくださり1人用の茶器と煎茶を購入。準備をしてくださっている間にご主人がお茶を淹れてくれましたが、何気なくお茶っ葉を入れて注いでいたように見えましたが飲んだ瞬間味わったことがないようなお茶の旨みが感じられ感動しました。帰ってから美味しいお茶を淹れられるよう頑張っています。また京都に行く機会がありましたら伺わせて頂きたいと思います。ありがとうございました。
新茶のシーズンに伺いました。店頭で購入予定のお茶を試飲させて頂きました。三煎目まで丁寧に淹れて頂きましたが、とてもおいしく感動しきり。口福とはこういうことを言うのだと思いました。優しい対応の女将さんと思われる人は一見の客の私にもとても丁寧に接して頂きとても気持ちよく買い物をすることができました。あれくらい上手に煎茶を淹れられるようになりたいと願って日々精進したいと思います。

My favorite place we went in Uji. I purchased a beautifully handcrafted matcha bowl (on the right on top shelf of my home setup), 100 grams of the best hojicha I’ve tried, and some lovely sencha. The owner is incredibly kind, patient, and has fantastic prices for such excellent quality. They also sell matcha here, but we went for some of her recommendations and tea we knew we couldn’t get as easily back home. I will dream about buying her store again!
