Zen Meditation – 40 Minutes of PracticeNever did I imagine that one day, I would wake up at 4:30 AM, step into a temple, and participate in a Zen meditation session. It was, without a doubt, the longest 40 minutes of my life.The first 10 minutes were spent listening to the master’s meticulous instructions—the position of the fingers, feet, and head, the angle of the gaze, the rhythm of breathing—so precise that it felt almost obsessive. Finally, we sat down, and the master said, “Empty your mind. Focus on nothing.” But that was easier said than done. My brain refused to cooperate, thoughts spinning uncontrollably—analyzing my own thought process, wondering how others managed to sit so still, questioning just how long these 40 minutes would feel.My mind was a storm of distractions while my body slowly began to ache. Closing my eyes didn’t help; instead of finding peace, I saw stars, moons, and swirling visions. The silence was so profound that even swallowing felt disruptive, as if any slight movement might break the stillness.I began to struggle—desperate to check the time, yet convinced that looking meant admitting defeat. Stillness, ironically, felt like a dynamic battle; the more I tried to relax, the more tense I became. The more I tried to empty my mind, the more thoughts flooded in. Sleepiness crept in, my eyes ached, but the moment I shut them, I became even more alert. 坐禅が出来るようです。
以前より、坐禅が気になっており 近場で坐禅会がある事を知り 初めて参加させて頂きました。冬場にて、しんから冷える寒さでしたが、満月の月明りがとてもきれいでした。不慣れな私を手取り足取りご指導して頂き、ありがとうございます。また、行きたいです。

まだ御参りした事が御座いませんが私の田舎は愛媛県宇和島市津島町嵐で弓立と言う所に円通寺と言うお寺があり私の先祖がまつられ曹洞宗を探したら南隆寺に辿り着きました。
