Saya Miyashita was an absolutely outstanding guide! She is one of the very best guides my wife and I have ever had, not just in Japan, but anywhere we have travelled. She was professional, engaging, knowledgeable, and made us feel like VIPs from start to finish. Her passion for what she does and her attention to detail made our experience truly unforgettable. We highly recommend Saya to anyone visiting Japan and would happily book another tour with her in a heartbeat. Thank you for making our visit so special!
Booked a tour during our stay in Kanazawa this past week and had a wonderful experience with our guide Nichola. Nichola has a very deep knowledge of the town and history of Japan so we learned a lot. He was also very accommodating when we made some side stops for souvenir shopping and tea. In addition, he provided some suggestions for food options, which turned out to be terrific. The tour was very informative and Nichola was wonderful to chat with along the way. Highly recommend booking with Nichola for your visit!
Yoshiko O. was a fantastic guide in Kanazawa. She spoke excellent English, was very personable, and came thoroughly prepared. Her knowledge, organization, and friendly personality made our tour both informative and enjoyable. We highly recommend her to anyone visiting Kanazawa!
My family and I had an amazing day with Nicola! From the moment we met him, it was clear we were in knowledgeable and welcoming hands. He walked us through the Nagamachi samurai district, sharing the history behind the preserved earthen walls and traditional residences in a way that was genuinely fascinating. The geisha district was equally interesting, with Nicola providing rich historical context and dispelling some common misunderstandings.Lunch was a highlight too! Rich and flavourful Japanese curry that was the perfect midday recharge before we wrapped up the day at the stunning Kenroku-en garden. We even left with some trading card store recommendations!Couldn’t have asked for a better day. If you’re visiting Kanazawa, book with Nicola!
Kanazawa was our last stop on a month long Japanese adventure. We picked Kanazawa as our last stop because it is small and dense in history. Our guide, Yoshiko, did an amazing job showing off her city. We hit five major areas: Omicho Market, the Geisha district, the Samurai district, the Kanazawa Castle and Kenroku-en. We requested taxis to minimize travel time and load on our feet (I did say we had been in Japan for a month! :) ). Yoshiko provided a balanced description of the different areas and we left with a good understanding of the history of the area.
Great tour and highly recommended. Our guide was Nicola who was assisted by Emma and both were quite knowledgeable and personable. Nicola (Italian married to a Japanese) and Emma (British) have both been in Japan and Asia for a number of years and quite excited to share their knowledge. Nicola has excellent English and Emma, of course! Their Japanese abilities are impressive as well. We had a fun walk through the geisha district as it was getting dark with the lanterns gently illuminating the historical buildings. Following that walk we proceeded to a charming Izakaya (casual Japanese gastropub) for a fabulous dinner. This was a place that only the locals would know and almost no tourist would stumble upon. Great, authentic local atmosphere and really good food/drink. We would definitely do the tour again just for the dinner and sake if back in Kanazawa! Very enjoyable.

We enjoyed a wonderful tour with our guide Ian. He had a lot of knowledge about Kanazawa as well as the history of Japan, which gave us an good understanding of Kanazawa, the Samurai era, Geiko and Geisha districts, and the gold leaf production. The Kanazawa Castle and beautiful Kenroku-en (garden) are must see places. Certainly a tour we wouldn't have wanted to miss!!
