私は入門クラスで4週間、2年以上前にここで勉強しました。
私は良い経験をしました、そして私が学んだことはとても役に立ちました。
学生が多すぎて私たちに知らせていた数日がありました - そして次の月曜日に彼らはクラスを2つに分けました。
彼らが私たちの苦情を聞いてから私は良い経験をしました。
(原文)I studied here for 4 weeks in introductory classes and up over 2 years ago. I had a good experience and the things I learned were very useful. There was a few days where there were too many students and we had let them know - and the following Monday they split the class into 2. I had a good experience since they listened to our complaints.

A frustrating waste of time and moneyI attended the weekly course at the Intercultural Institute of Japan (Intercul) for 9 weeks and was extremely disappointed with my experience. The course was poorly organised and the teaching staff were inadequately trained. I had previously studied Japanese for 1 and 1/2 years in my own country and thoroughly enjoyed it. But after 1 week at Intercul, I didn't wanted to see, hear or speak Japanese ever again. That is in itself a sad indictment on the quality of education I received at this school.Students are subject to a constantly rotating cast of contracted teaching staff. With teachers changing literally every day, there is no hope of any continuity between classes. In your first 7 days at Intercul, you will likely have 7 different teachers. Each teacher has only the vaguest concept of what the previous day's teacher has taught, and will often begin the class with, "So what did you learn yesterday?" Consequently, it is virtually impossible for students to build on what they've previously learnt. The teachers themselves speak in a manner unsuitable for language learners; they either speak too fast, mutter, mumble, ramble or eat their words. A language teacher should speak clearly and concisely and at a moderate pace. You will find few such teachers at Intercul. The teachers also seemed less concerned with actually teaching than they were with simply powering through the material. I felt that we were often discouraged from asking questions so as not to delay the lesson. When I did dare raise my hand, the answer I received was almost always incomprehensible. I soon learnt to keep my mouth shut. The worst offender is a lady I will refer to as the Drill Sergeant. She barked her lessons with such ferocity that I felt I should be crawling through mud under barbed wire. On one occasion, I told her in slow, deliberate Japanese that I didn't understand something she had written on the board. The complex, long winded explanation that was fired back at me was completely beyond my comprehension. So, in order to keep up with the class I tried quickly Googling the phrase...that is, until the Drill Sergeant chastised me for playing with my phone during class and demanded that I participate in the conversation. The only exception to this sad troupe of so-called teachers is "A" sensei (I won't use actual names here). She is a wonderfully refreshing reminder of what a teacher should be. She has a pleasant demeanour and speaks clearly and directly, not wasting her words, and at a pace that everyone can understand. She engages with the class - watching and listening to see how well the lesson is being understood - and adjusts the pace accordingly. Sadly she only serves to highlight how poor most of her colleagues are.It took me a few weeks to realise that little is actually taught in class. Instead, each lesson feels like revision of material you are assumed to have learnt at some other time and place. One morning we were handed a quiz on Kanji that I had never seen before in my life. The guy next to me turned to me and said, "How the **** are we supposed to be able to do this?!"It must be said that some students did seem to enjoy these classes. But these were students who appeared to already had advanced Japanese language skills.Note also that my observations are limited to the weekly course. The long term course appears to be structured differently and may well be better.I cannot in good faith recommend the weekly course at Intercul to anyone but those already with highly developed vocabulary, grammar and listening skills. Even then I would question why you're taking the course in the first place; there are cheaper ways to practise Japanese conversation. My own experience amounted to little more than a frustrating waste of time and money that has robbed me of any enjoyment I once had in studying Japanese.
Professional teachers, cool place and easy to way
