Very interesting to check out especially the huge fish and shellfish caught. The place is only open to tourists from 10am when they are packing up (unless you go for the limited seating early auctions). If you don't look like a tourist then you can get in earlier (try riding a bicycle with a face mask on lol) Local vendors get quite irritated at tourists as there are so many that they block the narrow pathways and likely because they know they will not buy anything. Local authorities try to control this by limiting numbers and restricting access to certain areas. Local sashimi near the market is fresh but very expensive, about aud50-60 for small portions. This is likely due to them capitalising on foreighners wanting to experience tasting fish straight from the market.
Visitors should be sure to see the wonderful, colorful Tsukiji Fish Market. Get there early. There are many good restaurants and good shops in the area.
