** Hiyoshi Shrine ( Kamiyoshi ) 日吉神社（神吉）Hiyoshi Shrine of Kamiyoshi was established in Kami-ku Kamiyoshi ( u003d north Kamiyoshi ) as a place to enshrine its local deity. Built on the side of a mountain in the north the precincts of the shrine consists of two leveled ground connected with a flight of stairs. There are several sub-shrines next to its main hall. There are noh stage and forest in the first level. There is a huge cedar tree on the right side of the noh stage in the center. This one is called Tanesugi 5.4 meters wide 34 meters height. Considered one of the 200 greatest creations of nature selected in Kyoto. ( Tane u003d seed / Sugi u003d cedar ) it means the tree is the origin of many other trees of this kind. This type of cedar makes great construction material. For this reason it has made great contribution of our lives and culture over the past more than 300 years of its life. 日吉さんなのでやはりお猿さんの木彫りがありました、とても立派な祠があります。
残念ながら狛犬はいませんでした。
