佐賀-佐合島の渡し船乗り場から徒歩10分、途中で八幡様の鳥居を過ぎて、まだかな？と思った頃に三の鳥居が現れます。
山口県最大の古墳に鎮座する神社からは馬島、佐合島、上関が望め、いにしえの国際航路を行き交う船の姿を思い起こします。
ここに行かれたら、是非、前出の八幡様もお寄り下さい。
私は、昭和の時代からこの地に通っていましたが、神社に来たのは初めてでしたが、もっと早く来れば良かったと思いますし、神社への道すがらも昭和の日本がまだ残っていて、とても懐かしいです。
