Very personable, and great service. They’re very helpful, and will work with you. They’re buy-today, drive-today program is very convenient if you are on a time crunch. Basically you buy a car and they will provide you with a vehicle to get your paperwork done on the vehicle you bought. Overall, I was pretty satisfied with their service.
Craig at Auto Shop Z has done JCIs on two of my vehicles, and did so in a very quick turn around time. They have been completely honest with me at all interactions. I'll be looking for my next car there. Their prices always seem to be lower than other car lots. Give them a call and they'll come get you if you don't have a ride. Avoid the car lots that are close to other bases, as they charge a lot more than retail prices.
This place provides excellent value compared to other car lots in Okinawa. I purchased a Gino Mira with a kanji plate about two years ago, and drove it for two years with no issues. I shopped around and found this desired vehicle for about $1300 less than other dealers were asking. When it was time to JCI, I resold the car myself, made back nearly what I paid for it, so essentially drove the car for free for two years. After selling the Gino, I found a sweet Peugeot convertible with custom paint through the same shop. Once again, I did price comparisons on island, and I saved at least $2000 compared to other places. I am still driving the Peugeot, and when it is time to get another car, I will return to Auto Shop Z.
The staff were very helpful in finding the right car for me that was within my budget. Sometimes things do not always go as planned, and the car's alternator failed, but they were right on it with the warranty and even provided me with a loaner car to use until my ride was repaired. If you are looking for veteran-owned loyalty at an affordable price, it is worth the driving distance. Be sure to send your friends and take advantage of the referral system as well.
Very helpful and fast! Will return in the future. Thanks Craig!
Great place to buy next vehicle if you looking for something reliable.
Garbage.
Had car for less than a year before mechanical issues caused the car to become extremely dangerous to drive. Owner's advice: drive the car 40 km north the next day to get the problem checked out. Upon finally making the long drive north, I was told by the rude staff member that the owner and all mechanics took the day off and I would need to pay to have the issue checked out the following day. The staff member, who cared more about smoking his Newports than providing service to customers, said he was "9/10 sure" the issue would not be covered under warranty and I would have to pay out of pocket-- and not just for any repairs, even just to get the issue looked at? After towing the car to a high-quality Japanese repair shop, I was told it would cost between $1.5k and $2k to repair the car-- and there would likely be further issues down the road because the previous owner drifted with the car regularly. Summary: Auto Shop Z will sell you a low quality product that they do not stand behind, then provide you the lowest quality service on island.
These guys were great, stood behind their deal, good quality for a good price.

Never buy a car from this place. I purchased a Nissan March from them in August last year and immediately had to take it in because the car wouldn’t start. It was in the shop FOREVER, when I got it back it I found a ton of water in the trunk. The back was rusted under the hatch, something I didn’t see when I was looking at the car. The picture shows how they tried to fix the problem with silicone but water still leaked through. Whenever I filled up the car all the way with gas, it smelled like gasoline and I couldn’t figure out why until I found a gas leak. Of course none of it is covered in the warranty so they wanted $200 to fix the gas leak. Also, they wanted to keep the car for a while since they had to import the part from mainland. I ended up taking my car to somewhere else where we purchased our van. They offered to fix the gas leak for much less and within the week. Don’t buy from here unless you want a lemon.
