（原文）A friend recommended I stay here. It has been great. Hiroshi-san is very nice and was nice enough to take me to the super market to buy food and snacks. It's a bit out of the way from the city but if you want peace and quiet and be close to the lake this is your spot.

My wife and I and my two young children stayed in this beautiful old Japanese house in Omihachiman. The house was situated in a rural village and it was so peaceful. It was great to experience real life in the Japanese countryside! The house is right next to an old Shinto shrine and my children enjoyed learning about its history. We went to Omihachiman by car as there was parking available and from the guesthouse we could easily enjoy all the local sightseeing places of Omihachiman as well as having great access to the rest of Shiga prefecture. Even without a car you can reach the house by bus or the hosts even offer a pick-up service from Omihachiman station. The property is very large so our children could wander around inside and outside freely enjoying the fresh air. What made our stay even more special is that the hosts were so friendly and helped us with directions and all we needed to know to have a fantastic trip to Omihachiman. We really want to stay again and will probably stay longer next time as Shiga prefecture has so much to offer! We highly recommend this guesthouse. A truly memorable experience!
