This temple has the grave of Yamada Kengyo. Yamada Kengyo (1757-1817) is a Koto (Japanese harp) player in the middle of the Edo period. He started to learn Koto music because he lost his eyesight in his childhood. He invented the new style of music, which is so-called Koto concerto to play a main melody by Koto. The grave was moved here in 1928, after the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923.
