庄司旅館の特徴
大鳥羽駅前に位置する、百年を超える歴史ある旅館です。
郷土料理として提供される炭火焼きのカンパチが絶品です。

This little gem of a ryokan is run by the nicest people and provided me with an extremely pleasant and memorable stay. The inn itself is a little worn and dated, though in a homey and lived-in sort of way. The food was great too, especially (incredibly, for me) the charbroiled fish head, which I believe they said was a kampachi. The kindness of the owners and their family was truly legendary, even by Japanese standards...I hope everyone gets the treatment I did because I'm still a little in awe of how nice they were. The Rate for one night with two meals plus an enormous and tasty takeaway lunch was a very reasonable 7000 yen. (The lunch that was packed for me held me until dinner the next day and included things not normally included in courtesy lunches: stir fried veggies, a ton of tamagoyaki, kamaboko, and a piece of cheese. Wow.)Five stars all the way...
