I really enjoyed the stay at this beautiful hidden gem of a guesthouse. The room was really cozy and beautiful. I'm a big fan of wood architecture and interior design so that was the main reason I booked the place. The cedar wood scent was really relaxing. The room was very clean and full of high-quality amenities. I particularly enjoyed the shampoo and conditioner; those were the best I have used in awhile! The guesthouse was in walking distance to Uno port which was perfect for exploring the art islands of Teshima and Naoshima. The town of Uno itself is a hidden gem. It's a refreshing escape from the business of the city. I enjoyed the snack shops and coffee shops nearby. There is also a famous onsen nearby and the Uno station can take you to the heart of Okayama. Will definitely come back for more exploration of the art islands!
二樓樓梯對拿大行李的人來說會不太方便,但是其他部分都很讚。
In three weeks travelling across Japan, this was without doubt the most wonderful place we stayed. The perfect accompaniment to a day spent in Naoshima, like stepping into a minimal museum for delightful curiosities. The hosts restaurant and design shop is the most unique place we have eaten in and the food did not disappoint. Cannot recommend SHITENTEITEN enough.
We had a really great time!A lovely small townhouse with three quiet rooms. The room was amazing and the location was perfect — just 5 minutes from uno Station and 5 minutes from the port. The place was clean and had everything we needed. The host was really nice and helped us with everything we asked for.
-The space was warm and welcoming, very spacious, fully equipped, and impeccably clean. The location is perfect — just a short walk from Uno Port. Most of all, the hosts were incredibly kind and attentive, which made the stay feel safe and relaxing. This was one of the most comfortable places I’ve stayed at in Japan. Everything — from the space and cleanliness to the thoughtful service — was excellent. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to friends.
This is a newly opened guesthouse with just three rooms, located about a 5–7 minute walk from Uno Station (very close!). We stayed in the four-person family room on the second floor, and the space was very comfortable. The host was very thoughtful—allowing us to drop off our luggage early and even provided extra blankets and a pillow for our child. The new bathroom facilities were clean and pleasant, with a sit-down shower area that we really appreciated. Our family doesn't usually watch TV, so the absence of one actually helped us enjoy our trip even more. We especially loved the handwritten welcome card and the coffee bags provided—it felt very warm and personal.During our stay (which was during Golden Week), many restaurants were closed, so we picked up some fried rice from the nearby 7-Eleven (about a 7-minute walk). The guesthouse has a microwave, so we could easily heat up our food. There’s also a coin laundry nearby, which is great for travelers. We’d definitely love to come back again! (While the soundproofing isn’t perfect, the street outside is very quiet at night, so we all slept well.)

An ideal base for visiting the highly recommended and really beautiful ‘art island’ of Naoshima. The apartment is very conveniently and quietly located in a small house, just a 5-minutes walk from the ferry (and also the train station). Everything is lovingly furnished and well-equipped, with a rather rustic style featuring lots of wood – you’ll feel right at home. You get fresh towels and toiletries every day, and the rubbish is emptied daily. The owners are very friendly, communication is excellent, and access is via a number code. Above our ground-floor apartment – which is spacious, especially by Japanese standards – including a kitchen, there are two more, so you can occasionally hear the floor creaking, but that didn’t bother us much. The value for money is very good. There are various good restaurants just around the corner. If you like chicken, you should head to “Ocean Village”
