I would say they're ok. In person they treat you nice but phone services are horrible. Sometimes there's nice person and helpful person on the phone service. Specifically dental clinic phone service was horrible. They just hang up the phone if you're not worthy of be in their system??? I think those people should get fired and learn their lessons.

(原文)This hospital is basically a glorified Doctors Office. They aren't able to handle anything especially with children a year and under, they will always send them out in town two another hospital. Also, if you want to bring your child home but the Japanese hospital wants to keep them they won't listen two you. They are more worried about saving face with the Japanese hospital then what the parents want and what really is best for the child. If your child gets set out two a Japanese hospital you will have know say in there care you will just be told whats going two happen even if the Japanese hospital needs your consent for something and if you don't give it your child will not be able two leave.
(原文)Government civilian TAD to Yoko for a short time, staying in Yokohama (one hour train ride north) due to limited lodging close to base. I came down with a sore throat and cough, so I called to determine if I was eligible to be seen at the hospital using my Federal Employee Heath Benefit insurance. After being bounced around on the phones, I was told I would need to come in person to show my DTS orders and they would determine eligibility but I may still not be seen that day. Ended up finding a hospital out in town and using google translator to receive care. Sad that a Marine Corps veteran and DoD Civilian has to jump through hoops to determine if they can be seen for a sore throat overseas.

One of the more professional and knowledgeable naval hospitals.
Great staff who are helpful and friendly. They provide a variety of services here that aren’t available at some of the smaller Japan bases. This place is old and seriously outdated. I’m surprised it’s still up to code in some places. The layout is beyond horrible and there could be better signage. Luckily the staff always helps you find your way. It’s too bad the staff have to work in such a decrepit building.
In March 1970 I arrived at this Naval Hospital. I was sent here because of a wound received in Viet Nam. The hospital military personnel were very friendly and courteous. I felt the stress leave me. There were some Japanese ladies that worked in the ward I was in and showed the hospitality of warm human beings. Very helpful and concerned for my well being. The perfect way to say goodbye to a war. Thank you Japan.
very attractive place to be stationed!!
Horrible. Every time. Went to the ER with two impacted ears in a lot of pain and completely deaf. ER sent me up to the ENT because they had better equipment. ENT told me they couldn't see me for over a week. I wound up having to get rude with people before finally convinced someone to get me in the next day. I went to the ER because it was an urgent situation, if I was able to sit and wait a week to get an appointment I'd have scheduled one. Awful.
Has many of the medical services that one can expect at one of the many overseas military locations. All of the medical practitioners are pretty knowledgeable as expected. Base sits on Tokyo Bay so the scenery is very nice.
Service here was amazing an the base is pretty nice an huge.
Pretty awesome place, from what I can remember being born there

Dental hygienist M.A. gave me the best cleaning of my life. Checked every tooth and went back to double check her work. I wish I could take her with me back to the states. Thank you so much!
