The owner, Toru, is a friendly guy. After comparing several surf shops, I chose this one, affordable surfboard and wetsuit rental, just in front of and excellent surfspot, and easily reached by bike from our guesthouse Hooju in Aoshima. Aoshima is truly made for surfers: from beginners to advanced/ intermediate surfers (more to the north). When I was there it was just perfect: offshore wind, sunny, and the sea is warm. I surfed just in front of the surf shop. First you have to cross small river to get to the beach, which is kind of fun. Just look out for sharp oyster clam, especially during high tide. Low tide is not the best time to surf. Just make sure you check the surf condition before you go (magicseaweed Kisakihama for the direction of the wind and the tide schedule). I really had a happy surf here. Thank you, Toru.
