I had the privilege to train here at the Chito Ryu Sohonbu a few years ago and I am looking forward to many more opportunities in the future.
I have trained at the Sohonbu a number of times and always come away amazed at what I have learnt and experienced. Chito-Ryu is a real karate system with a depth of knowledge that is beyond my understanding at this time in my karate journey but I know if I keep training I will slowly understand more and more. The best place to learn is at the source with Soke and his staff of incredibly talented seniors and I will be returning as often as I can on my own and with my students.
I have been training here since 1985, no better teacher in the world than the Chito Ryu Soke. If you are fortunate enough to be in Kumamoto don’t waste the opportunity to train an authentic Karate Do. Many many others from all around the world travel here each year to learn, including myself. There are some excellent teachers in the Dojo including native English speakers.
Best karate school with great teachers and students, everyone is friendly.

Last year (2017) I had the oppurtunity to train here under Higuchi Sensei. The experience was excellent. I learnt basic techniques of the bo. As a high school teacher myself i recommend and commend Sensei Higuchi on his ability to individualise teaching to meet the level of each of his students. A great Karate and Kodubo dojo.
