Great place, booked one night here while doing the kumano kodo trail. So far the best accommodation we had in 2 weeks in Japan. Appreciated the easy use of bath. Everything top quality, feels comfy and nice. Good coffee and tea. Good futons bed. Wonderful food. Friendly and helpful owner / chef . Bonus : Can listen music using Bluetooth speaker.
After a rather intense climb from Takijiri-oji, Suzushiro is the coziest place to rest for the night. Very pampered by the view and the food so well-prepared by our hosts.
This place really was fantastic. Amazing cottage, great food, awesome view. Loved it!

This was our first stay on the Kumano Kodo and it was wonderful. We had the cottage that Mahito had built in the rice field from local cedar all to ourselves. Later he and brought us our evening meal which was also really special. If I could go back to just one spot in Kii peninsula this would be it.熊野古道での初めての滞在でしたが、素晴らしかったです。
真人さんが地元杉の田んぼに建てたコテージを独り占め。
後で彼と私たちの夕食も本当に特別なものを持ってきてくれました。

近くのスーパーで買い物をして、部屋で食べました。

This gem of a guest house was a highlight of our month long trip across Japan. The food was absolutely delicious, so pay the extra fee for the in house meal. We were lucky and were able to watch the clouds roll over the mountains that day as well. The pics here do not do the view justice. It was nothing short of spectacular. We sat on the deck in our yukata, listened to the sound of frogs, and watched the sun set. Additionally, when we left a cell phone charger the man who ran the house drove to the next town and visited each of the guest houses in that town until he found us. It blew us away. 5 stars is not enough.

An amazing place to stay while walking the Kumano Kodo. Run by a friendly young family whole will provide everything that you need and some excellent Japanese food. Highly recommend for anyone staying in this area.
This is the BEST place we stayed in Japan (been 3 times!). If you go to walk the Kumano, walk it backwards (we did Koyasan- Hongu- Takahara) and stay here for at least 2 nights. We will come back to stay again for sure. The hosts (young family) are AMAZING, they will help you with all you need. You will have the cottage to yourself, so clean and with all you need (cook/ tea/ read...etc.). Gorgeous views and you'll sleep like a baby. Highly recommended! (the kind of place you want to keep selfishly to yourself).
What a fantastic surprise it was to discover this place. Its a charming mountain lodge run by a young family. We had the place all to ourselves and our hosts were very attentive to anything we needed. Slept really well and woke up to a stunning view of the valley. If you're passing through, stay here.
Incredible hotel with wonderful staff! I travel for a living and rarely have I had such great service and such delicious food!
