I have lived in Gonohe Town for 10 years and have enjoyed the small community immensly. The people are so friendly and the children always ready to practice their new learned English on you. If I could, I would live there the rest of my life. My boys are there. I worked for the board of education for 8 years. Gonohe has the best horse meat soup and cheese. If you would like to know more about this town, contact me. Gonohe aquired Kuraishi Village in 2004 to enlarge the borders of Gonohe. Not everyone was in favor of this deal but, due to politics and the Japanese way of doing things, it happened. After a few years, things smoothed out and now all seems well. I suggest staying at the local Ryokans since there are no "real" hotels in the town. A lovely place with great people and great food.
