These folks occasionally ring our office to ask about e-commerce or other services while trying to skillfully extract employee information from whoever takes the call. They apparently also set up a fake domain (mizume.jp) to email RFQs and inquiries from, with the same objective in mind, I'm sure. Bottom-feeders like these that make their living by poaching good employees from companies like mine make me more than a little sick.
Back in 2007 I applied for the C# Programmer position at East West.I came in three times for interviews. The first was with the IT manager who explained about the work and gave me a small technical puzzle to solve for the next time we meet. The second time I was given 2 technical interviews about programming and databases. The final meeting was with the boss (Shacho) who explained more about the business and how things work.On my first day I was explained the basic business processes in IT and what my first project was about in more detail.Sometime during the first week the company held an orientation meeting where various people in back-office introduced themselves and the services they offer to all the new employees. The company hires mostly foreigners and being a newcomer to Japan, it makes a big difference working and socializing amongst English speaking co-workers from many countries and cultures.Over the years I’ve made many friends and several good friends.I am regularly working on new projects and new technology as well as maintaining the older software systems. The environment is sometimes tough, and generally your managers will push you to perform better (which is usually a good thing) and I have always found the work interesting, enjoyable and rewarding.
Met with HR for a Consultant position and left with a better understanding of future possibilties. I've been a teacher in Japan for a few years and felt it was time for a change. They explained the ins and outs, gave me a view of a typical day of work and answered all my questions. I think my interview went pretty smoothly and hope I get the job. Friends, if you're interested in sales and tired of the same teaching pay, I highly recommend.
Fake personality of people. They don't have the Japanese vibe that you get from other companies in the same building.
